It seems a recent Windows Security Update (KB928843 MS07-008) may cause an issue where the Realtek HD Audio Control Panel may not start after it is installed. Windows Defender, Vista and the 0x80240029 Error
I noticed today that my windows vista computer had not received the updates that I knew had been released. My automatic updates are on however, now some of the windows "extras" were no longer showing either. I then noticed that the new "Windows Defender" Spyware program was showing an error that it's defenitions were also out of date.
